UNUSUAL IRON-BOUND PANELED FRUITWOOD COFFER.18th century Mediterranean region. The rectangular coffer with rows of small recessed panels, iron-bound at the corners. The top with central four panel hinged door with iron latch. The whole raised on turned ball legs with disc feet. SIZE: 22" h x 40-1/2" w x 20" d. PROVENANCE: Contents of a lifetime collection "Brook Crossing," South Pomfret, VT. CONDITION: Structurally very good. Old in-use repairs and patches in several panels on top.
