Made in 1901, this V Grade Parker features double triggers, extractors, and an automatic safety. The gun has 27-7/8" Vulcan steel barrels (reduced to this length). The frame is typical V Grade zig zag border engraved and has been embellished with a most intriguing leaping rabbit on the bottom of the action. The buttstock and forearm are of very nice, much higher grade than normally found on a V Grade, French Walnut and are completely uncheckered. There is a 2" x 2-1/2" area of wood that has been replaced on the left side of the butt stock. The buttstock has a 13-7/8" LOP over a Parker Bros. DHBP. This is an interesting gun that could be further researched. The stocks certainly look like they could be Parker products and are probably of the period as is the engraving on the bottom of the frame. CONDITION: Good overall. Barrels retain a trace or two of original finish having been cleaned long ago. The receiver has toned to grey as has the trigger guard. The uncheckered stocks retain most of an older restored finish with scattered impressions and the repair noted above and another one at the toe. Bores are fair with an old coat of grease currently in them. Mechanics are functional. A neat gun and the rabbit engraving on the bottom certainly adds a ton of character!
