Gun (A) is a rare Colt Officer's Model target manufactured 1920. Left side of barrel is stamped "OFFICERS MODEL 38". Front target sight is missing front set screw. Flat top frame with adjustable rear sight. Features six shot, double action and blued finish with a set of deep set full medallion diamond checkered walnut grips. Officer's Model type checkered backstrap and trigger. CONDITION: This gun has been shot and carried, silver along both sides of barrel. High edge wear on frame and cylinder. Overall age freckling on cylinder. Fine bore and action. Gun (B) is a Colt Official police manufactured 1942. According to the factory letter, this gun was shipped January 2nd, 1942, less than a month after Pearl Harbor to the US Rubber Company, Des Moines Ordnance Plant in Iowa, obviously with World War II just underway, the rubber plant became a vital US commodity. This would have been used by guards against espionage and saboteurs, making it as interesting a gun as an Official Police can be. Standard features include six shot, double action, blued finish and silver medallion checkered walnut grips. Stamped with rack No. "122" on backstrap. CONDITION: Gun has some thinning on cylinder, barrel and backstrap. Straps and trigger guard are blue-brown patina with age freckling. Obviously holster worn as a guard gun. There were 25 guns in this shipment to US Rubber on the same day.
