Approximately 10,000 to 12,000 were manufactured in both frame sizes from 1886 to 1890. The deluxe features part octagon barrel, full magazine, sporting sights, blued finish, deluxe checkered walnut forend, and deluxe checkered pistol grip stock with rifle butt. Front sight missing blade. An 1893 Barber quarter has been set into pistol grip and an 1891 Liberty nickel has been set into right side of stock. Gold inlay on forend reads "H.H. TAYLOR". Left side of stock has a small gold shield with gemstones. CONDITION: Barrel and tube retain approximately 90% original factory blue with brown patina showing through and some added wiped-on finish. Frame has faded to a freckled grey with some bright blue on lower tang. Dust cover is missing. Top of bridge is stamped "CAL 45". Stocks have been refinished and revarnished. Fine action. Strong, well defined rifled bore with minor residue. Rare gun with lots of character.
