Lot contains: A) Grey pressed wool felt helmet with "Police" insignia mounted on the front, silver plated metal fittings. CONDITION: Interior leather sweatband shows moderate wear. B) Black pressed wool felt helmet with "Police" insignia mounted on the front, black metal fittings. CONDITION: Interior leather sweatband is partially detached. C) 19th Century Policeman's Belt and Buckle. Tooled black leather 1-1/2" wide belt with a two-piece nickel buckle bearing the inscription "Police" within floral borders. The buckle and belt are both unmarked. CONDITION: The leather is a bit dry and crazed, otherwise this example is in very good condition. D) Nickle plated shield measuring 8" by 9-1/4" on which is engraved "Liberty" within a scroll and the number "1". Mounted on a board, on which is scratched: " This shield is from the first 4 - horse drawn steamer fire engine in Bergen County Hackensack NJ". CONDITION: Shows wear to the nickel finish and losses to the black lettering. E) British "Bobby" helmet, the sweatband marked "Made in England." CONDITION: Excellent. From the Ray Bentley collection.
