1942 production G 33/40 Mountain carbine, manufactured at the Bruno factory in Czechoslovakia. These carbines were the German version of the Czech VZ33 carbine. Many of the G 33/44 carbines were issued to the German “Gebirgstruppen”, or Mountain Infantry, where the metal plate on the left side of the butt was used to keep the stock from harm while using the rifle for assistance in climbing. Marked on the top of the receiver "Eagle/63/ dot/ 1942". Matching numbers on the wood and receiver. The bolt is not matching but is of the correct type. Original leather sling. Correct cleaning rod and front sight hood. CONDITION: Metal retains approximately 45% finish overall, having thinned in areas. All markings are clear. Wood has some dings and handling marks. Stock number is worn but legible. Bore is fine with strong rifling. Good mechanical function.
