This Fireman's Dress Ax, although unmarked, was produced by the Carl Eickhorn firm and measures 17" overall with a 7" blade. Nickle plated fittings throughout. The head is deeply engraved on both sides, the obverse face features a fireman wielding a hose, axes, buckets and oak leaves. The reverse engraved with helmets, axes, ladders and oak leaves. The black painted handle features a presentation plaque on which is engraved "Dem Oberfuhrer Herrn C. Bickmeyer z. 50 Stiftungsfest 1926 gew. Freiw Feuerwehr Elze". CONDITION: Very good. From the Ray Bentley collection.
