Standard World War II period U.S. Army Officers Visor Cap, the interior leather sweatband embossed "G.C. Kenney 0-8940". Accompanying the cap is a 3" by 5" note, on which is written "To Bill Luetge - Best Regards. Gen George C Kenney" and a shipping label from General Kenney addressed to William J. Luetge. George C. Kenney served in the U.S. Army from 1917-1951. As a pilot during World War I he received the DSC and Silver Star and during World War II he commanded the 4th and 5th Air Forces, ending the war as Commander of the Far East Air Forces. CONDITION: Cap shows moderate wear to include a few small holes in the crown, partially detached sweatband and unstitched visor edging. From the Ray Bentley collection.
