Lot contains: A) Model 1858 smooth faced canteen with blue wool cover with a few small holes only. B) Model 1858 bullseye canteen with blue wool cover and white cotton sling. C) Civil War percussion cap pouch, complete with full wool and vent pick. The inner flap marked with sharp maker's stamp "R. Nece Philad" and Ordnance Department stamp. Minor crazing and edge wear. D) White buff sling for the Model 1841 Mississippi rifle in unused condition. E) Pair Brigadier General's dress epaulettes, showing moderate wear to the undersides and each missing their circular regimental designation on the faces. F) Four black bridle leather cavalry sword knots, three measuring 19" overall, one measuring 20" overall. All are supple with minor crazing, one exhibits losses to the leather fringe. G) Receipt dated October 15, 1863 from the U.S. Army clothing depot in New York for 2800 canteens. CONDITION: All in excellent condition unless otherwise noted. From the Ray Bentley collection.
