Features a round smoothbore steel barrel from a U.S. Model 1826 martial pistol, proof marks were removed and tang engraved at period of manufacture. Flat lockplate with engraved designs and marked "C. ROBBINS" in center, features a roller frizzen. Re-used Model 1826 steel trigger guard and butt cap. Brass ramrod ferrule, foliate engraved brass sideplate, and pierced German silver wrist escutcheon. Full-length stock of figured maple, ramrod probably a later replacement. CONDITION: Very good, all steel components retain a light grey patina with some scattered marks from use. Lock appears to be in original flintlock configuration. Stock very good with a later coat of finish and minor loss along forend on right side, near muzzle. This is a very nice Kentucky pistol, well-crafted using re-used martial pistol components, along with fabricated components. Robbins is listed as a maker in southeastern Pennsylvania.
