Circa 1762, London. Hallmarks remain clear and crisp. Salver with scalloped edge and shell decoration, raised on three scrolled feet. Incised decoration along the border of the surface is of an ornate scrolling floral design, wrought in fine detail. The hallmarks are located on the underside in the area of the floral brightwork. 13" diameter x 1-1/4" high. The salver has a warp resulting in the separation of the edge from the surface, we believe the piece can be professionally straightened, otherwise good with very light surface abrasions. Note: This salver was discussed in an article found in the "Antique Monthly" September 8,1982, page 22A by John Bly. The author of the article stated that the decoration on the salver is original to the 18th century as the hallmarks were struct post decoration. A copy of the article is included with the salver.
Item Dimensions: 13" Dia.
