(1959) 28" Barrels with narrow, matted, ventilated rib has St. Louis and Montreal addresses, steel and chamber information, on top left with patent numbers and "MADE IN BELGIUM" on top right. Barrels are marked for modified and full chokes. Small sized coin finished action with selective single trigger is engraved in typical Diana style with large shaded acanthus having strapwork highlights surrounding deeply relief cut game scenes; nye of five pheasant one flying, on left side, and four ducks, two swimming, two flying on right. A pair of quail fly across bottom of action and a pair of rabbits are on trigger guard bow. Both side scenes are signed by famed Browning engraver, F. Funken. Long tang, round knob buttstock of nicely marbled and lightly figured European walnut measures 13 - 3/4" over Silver type pad. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Side panels are checkered. A gold oval on toe line is engraved "FJE" (?) in script. Field forend matches well. Gun comes with tan Hartman case lined in faux fur which contains a pair of A & F marked snap caps. CONDITION: Excellent as refurbished. Barrels retain nearly all of a competent re-black. Action retains nearly all renewed coin finish, engraving lightly softened. Stocks retain nearly all of a glossy refinish with one or two light subsequent marks. Checkering re-cut. Pad is relatively new. Bores are excellent. Action is tight. Mechanically fine. Nearly all gold has flaked from trigger. Case is fine. Interior lightly soiled. Small bore RKLT Diana grade guns are very hard to find, especially one engraved by Browning's acknowledged master.
