The blade has roughly 20% freckling, moderate runner marks, and a chip to the cutting edge near the tip. It appears the original crossguard has been replaced with an aluminum reproduction. The wooden grip is leather wrapped and is in very good condition with scattered light marks. The grip emblem has some chipping to the enamel and shows signs of a repair attempt. The silver plated pommel could also be a replacement and is in very good condition. The leather wrapped scabbard is in excellent condition with scattered light marks and freckling throughout the silver plated fittings. A few small pock marks can be seen on the reverse of the lower fitting. (B) The Second Model RLB Officers Dagger's blade is in very good condition. The blade has good cross graining, scattered light marks from the scabbard runners, and general use. There are some small chips on the cutting edge of the blade. The aluminum cross guard appears to be a reproduction replacement. The leather wrapped wooden grip is in very good condtion showing signs of light use and scattered marks. The second pattern grip emblem is intact and shows some signs of light enamel flaking. The silver plated pommel cap could also be a reproduction. The second pattern scabbard is in very good condition showing light wear and scattered marks throughout. The correct leather hangers accompanying this dagger are in very good condition with some light wear to the leather and patina to the metal fittings. (C) The Chained NSKK Dagger blade is in near mint condition. The blade exhibits excellent cross graining and light runner marks. The Carl Eickhorn makers logo and RZM code are etched on the reverse. The nickel silver plated fittings retain approximately 90% of the original plating. The rosewood grip is in near mint condition with an aluminum inlayed eagle. The black painted scabbard and fittings are in near mint condition with only a few scattered marks. The black paint on the scabbard could possibly be a re-paint. The center band and chain, which are marked M5/25, could possibly be replacements.
