First half 20th century, England or France. This fine example, the shell carved from a solid retains original iron hanging bracket. Designed as a single side sign. Carved from pine with remnants of original coats or paint, old copper bands around legs at joints to strengthen old repairs. Weathering from the elements on upper edges of the carving presenting a very pleasing appearance. Weathered with a large percentage of paint loss, proper right upper leg in need of strengthening. Overall very good.
