Lot contains: (A) "Herder" Lions Head sword, (B) "Wingen" Lions Head sword, and (C) "Eickhorn" Lions Head sword. (A) Third Reich sword made by "Rich A. Herder" with a 32" blade in overall near mint condition. Blade is near mint, with a couple of spots of freckling near the marking and scattered light marks. Ruby glass eyed brass fittings and wire-wrapped grip are in excellent condition with dried polish remaining in many areas. Black painted scabbard retains more than 90% of its original black painted finish with scattered marks throughout. (B) Third Reich sword made by "Anton Wingen" with a 32" blade in overall very good condition. Blade is good, and is bent in two areas 12" from the tip. Remainder of blade has some light freckling and scattered light marks. Ruby glass eyed brass fittings and wire-wrapped grip are in excellent condition with dried polish remaining in many areas. Black painted scabbard retains more than 90% of its original black painted finish. (C) Third Reich Lion Head sword made by "Carl Eickhorn" with a 35" blade in overall excellent condition. Blade is in near mint condition, with scattered light marks. Ruby glass eyed anodized aluminum fittings and wire-wrapped grip are also in near mint condition. Scabbard retains more than 95% of its black painted finish which appears to have been repainted. A very good green leather portepee is attached.
