This neat game gun has has 27" barrels with a matted top rib and brass front bead. The barrels are engraved at the breech ends with wedges of scroll on top and bursts of scroll on the sides. The gun has double triggers, automatic ejectors, and an automatic safety. The Curtis style push button splinter forend is checkered in a four point pattern and the forend metal is nicely scroll engraved. The action is nearly full coverage scroll engraved and engraved on sides "J.J. Langley." The floorplate is fully rose and scroll engraved and there is a nicely done game scene on the bow of the trigger guard. The fences are fantastically sculpted in pineapple top pattern. The gun has a Greener type crossbolt. Top tang is nicely scroll engraved and "SAFE" inlaid in gold in front of safety. Buttstock with teardrops behind action is checkered in a four point pattern through the wrist. It has a ball grip and a small oval towards the toe. The butt terminates with a 1-1/2" black leather covered pad. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels retain most of a blued finish which is currently disguising Damascus barrels underneath them. Action has toned to silver, engraving with beginning wear. The Floorplate and the trigger guard have also been reblued. Buttstock and forend retain most of an older restored finish. Stocks are sound with scattered scratches and handling marks throughout. Bores are very good with beginning orange peel. Mechanics are fine.
