Proofed in 1954, this Beretta was meant for heavy loads which were quite fashionable at the time. The gun has 31-1/2" barrels with tapered matted rib and brass front bead. The barrels are monobloc barrels with 3" chambers. The bottom rib is fitted for sling swivel as is the toe of the stock. Short beavertail forend with Curtis type pushbutton opener is checkered on sides. The frame is border engraved along with a geometric design pattern around the hinge. The gun has double triggers (front trigger is articulated) extractors, and non-auto safety. The lightly colored butt is checkered in a two point pattern with scalloped pistol grip cap. Buttstock terminates in hardened ventilated red pad. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels retain about 90% original blue with some spotting and dry grease near muzzles. Action is bright, as finished this way, with only very minor staining noted. Buttstock and forearm are sound, checkering slightly thinned, and retain most of their original finish with scattered handling marks and hunting bumps. Action is a bit gummy but with gentle cleaning will perform well. Bores are bright and shiny.
