Made with 30" Arcus steel barrels, 2-3/4" chambers. Full length top rib with steel front bead, rib marked “Cogswell & Harrison Ltd. The Avant Tout” with makers address. Double triggers, automatic ejectors, automatic safety. Straight grip buttstock checkered in two point pattern with 14-5/8" length of pull over lined checkered butt. There is a vestigial Jones Underlever type knob riveted to the trigger guard bow most likely to ease holding the gun while waiting for the drive (think driven pheasant hunting). Friction splinter forearm near fully checkered with engraved steel tip. Action is nicely scroll engraved with about 60% coverage. Assisted opener. All visible serial numbers match. CONDITION: Good. Barrels retain about 90% of an older restored finish. Buttstock and forearm retain about all of an older restored finish, checkering having been recut long ago. There are scattered scratches and handling marks throughout. Stock fit on left side shows some gaping. The frame has gone gray and no color remains. Bores with orange peel throughout. Action is gummed up and in need of some attention or cleaning.
