Rare early SA/IHC variation, with only about 1100 guns made of this type. Receiver is manufactured by Springfield Armory as indicated by the heat lot and drawing numbers on the receiver. (receiver leg marked with “A 42 A” and “D6528291 43”) with Line Material Co. marked barrel dated 12-52. IHC marked bolt and trigger group. Op rod also marked IHC. Correct Dept of Defense marked stock with "P" in circle stamp. Comes with green cloth M1 sling and comes with CMP documents. CONDITION: Barrel and action retain 98% of arsenal finish along with action and hardware. Bore is excellent with a ME of 1 and a TE of 2. Stock retains 98% of its contemporary finish with light handling marks. The IHC has long been considered the finest quality M1 Garand rifles and had a very limited production.
