Prime Springfield Armory receiver made in December 1944 with SA marked barrel dated 12-44. SA marked bolt and trigger group. Stock marked with Ordnance wheel, SA and GAW cartouche (Col. George A. Woody) correct to period. "P" in circle visible proof. Correct locking bar sight. Proper and correct early style trigger group. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine and correct. Bore is perfect with muzzle reading of 3 and TE of 3. Barrel and action retain 90% arsenal finish along with the hardware. Stocks retains virtually all of its original finish with light handling marks. Fine original WW2 M1 Garands are quite difficult to obtain. This example is untouched and superb. A finer more honest example would be difficult to find.
