Standard configuration, mid-production, Cone Hammer pistol with 5-1/2" barrel having fixed front sight and pinned "1-10" marked rear sight. Independantly securing firing pin. Usual three line address chamber marking. Crown/Crown/U proof on left side of barrel extension; antler acceptance on right side. "J534" added to left side of barrel extension behind proofing. Major components rust blued, fire blued extractor, components at rear sight, bolt stop, firing pin retainer, and safety. Grayed hammer; trigger in the white. Serrated walnut grips. Original lanyard ring. Extensive disassembly shows all matching parts, including the bolt stop, locking block, and firing pin. Accompanied by an original Cone Hammer stock No. 11538 whose lid has been recessed for more hammer relief and a later type safety. CONDITION: Approximately 70% original finish with freckling and wear on the barrel, forward magazine, and grip straps. Comprable condition fire blued parts that show no enhancement. Grips dark with oil staining and scattered superficial dings. Very good bore with superficial erosions. Near excellent stock with lid adjustments as detailed. One of the most desirable C96s with an original stock.
