Standard features include long smooth trigger, wide spur checkered hammer, checkered slide stop and safety. Left side of frame bears the "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" stamp with "EEC" inspector (Edmund E. Chapman), eagle head proof and "RA" (Raritan Arsenal) rebuild stamp. Right side of slide has the correct "MODEL OF 1911 US ARMY CALIBER 45". Left side has Remington UMC Circle with Remington address and Colt patent dates. Blued barrel is a late replacement stamped "COLT 45 AUTO" on top of chamber. Magazine is a Type IV two tone tempered pinned base with no lanyard. CONDITION: The "RA" stamp would indicate arsenal refinish. The slide has finish over visible pitting. Legends are sharp. You will also fine finish over pitting on right side of frame. The diamond checkered walnut grips are newer replacements. Bore exhibits strong lands and grooves. Should be a good shooter or an excellent candidate for total restoration given its historical significance.
