Nagoya manufactured with large or "Manchurian" trigger guard. 4-1/2" round barrel with drift adjustable front sight and deep "V" notch rear sight. Dated march of 1943. 17 groove mahogany wood grips with grasping grooves. Matching numbers including magazine. The Type 14 was the primary handgun used by Japanese forces during World War II. This late variation has the spring magazine retainer as well as the late round checkered cocking handle. CONDITION: Fair to near relic. The exterior of the gun is very dark and pitted overall and what appears to be blood rust with deep corrosion on areas. The finish is a very dark grey as if heavy corrosion was cleaned off and the metal then naturally aged and turned to patina. The grips are equal in appearance. The bore is very good with sharp rifling and the action functions properly when manually operated. This is very possibly a battlefield pick-up or recovery.TDW
