Very scarce second variation Kriegsmarine marked 1934 Mauser pistol. Eagle/swastika/M engraved on the right side of the frame. Ost Fleet property number of "O.4805" on the front strap. The second variation pistols had a procurement of only 3,000 which is significantly less than the other variations. This is not one of the recorded known guns in Jan C. Still's book "Axis Pistols, Vol. II". Matching numbers on gun. Has "WESTERMAN" lightly scratched into the finish on the right side just above the Mauser banner, perhaps the soldier who captured it. Accompanying this gun are two original but unnumbered magazines and an unmarked but certainly period brown leather holster. CONDITION: Retains 65% original finish. All markings are clear. Wood grips are very good with some handling marks and good checkering. Bore is fine with strong rifling. Good mechanical function. Spare magazine in holster has some pitting on the body. Holster is solid with good stitching and some scuff and handling marks.
