Early Large Ring hammer C96 Broomhandle Mauser pistol, with 5-1/2" barrel, having fixed front sight and pinned 50-1000 rear sight. Long extractor, single lug firing pin. Chamber with usual three line address. Full serial number on left flat. Crown/Crown/U on left side of barrel extension; antler acceptance on right side. Left side of frame marked "VON LENGERKE/ & DETMOLD/ NEW-YORK". Fitted with original serrated grips. Original lanyard ring. Major components rust blued. Fire blued extractor, components of rear sight, bolt stop, and safety. Grayed hammer; strawed trigger. Disassembly shows all matching parts including the firing pin, locking block, bolt stop, all the usual internals, and each of the grips. Complete with an original mauser stock number 22767 as originally sold with a Flatside pistol. CONDITION: Pistol with approximately 85% original rust blue with usual sharp edge wear and areas of fading, especially noticeable in front of magazine well. Several of the fire blued parts have been touched up including the extractor, sight cursor, and the bolt stop. Very good to excellent grips retaining much of the original varnish. Stock with 4" crack on crest, lid with elongated safety lever recess, and touched up lug. A nice early C96, imported by VL&D, with a near-era stock.
