Manufactured 1860 to 1862. Martially marked with "W" on barrel and "J" on frame. Two piece walnut grips are newer with no cartouche. Octagon barrel and brass trigger guard. "BEALS" barrel stamp. CONDITION: All metal is grey patina. Newer grips do not fit well. Indexes but does not lock up. Strong rifling with clean lands and grooves. These were made in the beginning of the Civil War and are usually found quite worn.
