Factory letter lists this gun as sent October 13th, 1960, to Centennial Arms Corp. in Chicago in a 200 gun shipment. Gun is listed as a 3" .45 caliber with blued finish, stocks are not listed. Gun was engraved by the famous Colt master engraver Howard Dove. There is a work order from Colt Industries to Ace Pawn Shop, listing this gun by serial number ordering Type B engraving in oak leaf style with "Willie P. Dorman" in script on backstrap, silver medallion ivory grips and finished in full silver plate. The Ace Pawn Shop work letter lists all this in detail on their invoice and the gun remains in the same configuration as shipped. This revolver remains in near new condition as expertly custom finished with 99% of the full silver plated finish intact. Script name on backstrap. Ivory grips with silver medallions. Gun appears in Don Wilkerson's book "The Post-War Colt Single Action Revolver." Beautiful condition with only high edge wear. Clean bore with well-defined rifling. Lovely silver plated Colt Sheriff's Model. Famed gun writer Robert Omeara featured this gun in an article in the April 1987 Guns magazine, page 44, where he lists the engraving as done by Howard Dove. Gun is stamped "H. DOVE ENGR 1979" under the left grip.
