An Early Silver SS Marked Dove Head Sword in, overall, near mint condition. The chrome plated blade measure 31-3/4". The blade is maker marked for the firm "Herman Rath, Solingen", as well as SS proof marked under the maker mark. The blade rates near mint condition. The brass based silver electroplated hilt and hand guard are in excellent condition. Approximately 85% of the electroplated silvering remains with only a few areas of brass showing through. The wire wrapped black trylon grip is in excellent condition with dust build up in the recesses. The fitted pieces of the hilt have developed slight play from wear. The black painted steel scabbard are in near mint condition, retaining nearly 95% of the black paint.
