Manufactured 1862 only. This revolver exhibits the distinctive double sided wing and slot cut that allows cylinder to be removed without lowering wedge. Numerous military inspector stamps include "PR" on barrel and frame. Two piece walnut grips have a visible but not readable cartouche. Brass trigger guard stamped with "R". CONDITION: All metal is a brown patina, rounded on right side muzzle from holster. Original nipples. Indexes and locks up correctly. Strong, defined rifling with minor black powder abrasion. Good, attic find example of a very rare revolver.
