Features full octagon barrel, full magazine, takedown, sporting front sight, special .32 smokeless rear sight, blued finish, case colored hammer and lever, deluxe piano finish walnut stocks, and rifle butt. Presentation plaque on left side "JOHN S. WOOFTER". This was obviously a special order presentation as it features the piano extra finish walnut stock with triple X wood. CONDITION: Barrel and tube retains approximately 95% or better original factory blue with razor sharp edges and legends. Forend cap is silver patina. Sides of frame retain approximately 90-95% high polish blue, balance silver patina from carry. Nice case colors on side of hammer and lever. Extra finish wood is proud to metal with beautiful grain. Left side of stock has large brass presentation disc to John S. Wooften. Bore exhibits strong, clean rifling. Beautiful takedown with the special rear sight, extra finish wood and presentation plaque with lots of condition. Factory research verifies all of the above. Letter states "Plate in stock engraved JOHN F. WOOFTER", letter also states full nickel but it seems unlikely the factory would have completely stripped this gun of nickel and redid it in blue, although it was sent for repair and return on August 29th, 1911. Was it refinished at the factory then or is the full nickel simply a mistake? From the collection of Jason Roselius.
