Manufactured in Buffalo, New York, hence "Buffalo Newton". Features double set triggers, takedown frame, sporting sights mounted on collars, blued steel trigger guard, walnut stock with pistol grip. Bolt is finished in the white. CONDITION: Overall, rifle is in near new condition with nearly all of the original blue finish. Some thinning to trigger guard, approximately 75% blue. 98% blue on balance of gun. Wood has a couple of minor impressions, otherwise excellent. Fine bore and action. These were the first of the first of the rifles built in the US by Newton due to difficulties of getting parts from Europe during World War I. While the production of Newton rifles was a very short period, they were very innovative with both rifle design and the high power cartridges of their own design. This is one of the finest examples of this model we have ever seen, very rarely found in near new condition.
