A major competitor to the Colt Single Action Army, this strong revolver was manufactured from 1875 to 1889. Features round barrel, six shot, single action, blade front sight, single line barrel address and two piece smooth walnut grips. Left side of frame is stamped "44" for caliber. Muzzle of this barrel has been chamfered. Legends are visible. All metal has a wiped-on blue-brown finish with some light pitting evident under finish. When grips are removed, you will find six filed kill notches. Left grip panel is stamped with a "6". Bottom of left grip panel is stamped 5945. Grips screw is too short and does not tighten. Grips have been refinished and are slightly undersized. Revolver indexes and locks up correctly. Bore exhibits visible lands with pitted grooves and black powder residue.
