(A) Standard gun with 1879 model rear sight. 1890 cartouche on stock. Has "Co.A.1st" stamped in a couple places in the stock. There is an extra hole in the lock plate towards the rear for an unknown reason. Lock marked "US/ SPRINGFIELD". 2 click tumbler. (B) Standard gun with model 1873 rear sight. 1887 cartouche on stock. High arch breechblock that has a "C" stamped on the inside. 3 click tumbler. Lock marked "US/ SPRINGFIELD/ 1873". CONDITION: (A) Metal surfaces have been cleaned at some point with some parts having been refinished. Markings are clear. Stock has been refinished. Bore has strong rifling with some light surface rust and minor pitting. Lock works well. (B) Metal has been refinished. Markings are clear. Wood has been refinished. Bore is dirty with strong rifling. Lock works well. Breechblock is hard to close, most likely due to a buildup of dried grease.
