This is a very late 2nd model Maynard carbine, with "1865" on the lower tang in addition to the serial number. Standard markings otherwise. Good US military inspectors cartouches on the left side of the stock. Numerous sub-inspectors marks. Standard military configuration. Has "K.R." lightly scratched into the right side of the stock within a rectangle. CONDITION: The gun overall has a nice honest look to it. There is about 10% original case colors on the left side of the receiver under the saddle ring bar. Markings are clear. Barrel retains 80% original blue. Stock is fine with some light dings and handling marks with clear cartouches. There are 3 notches in the comb of the stock on the right side. Bore is fine with sharp rifling and minor areas of roughness. Some of the screw heads are a bit "buggered" and have been that way for quite some time. Fine mechanical function.
