(A) is an 1864 model Joslyn carbine. Iron mounted. This is a cartridge carbine. Matching numbers. (B) is a 1st model Merrill carbine, percussion. Brass mounted, including patchbox in stock. Matching numbers. CONDITION: (A) Gun has been cleaned at some point with some touch up and minor pitting. All markings in metal are clear. Stock has been refinished, cartouches are visible. Good mechanical function. Bore is fine with strong rifling. (B) Gun has been cleaned at some point with some touch up and light to moderate pitting. Brass is polished bright. Markings in metal are clear. Stock has been refinished with a repaired break in the wrist. Missing breech cleanout screw. Bore has strong rifling with pitting. Good mechanical function.
