A) Correct conversion of a 1873 trapdoor to a 20 gauge forager shotgun. Breech block marked 1881 with lock marked U.S. Springfield and dated 1873.Walnut stock with buttplate stamped U.S. B) U.S. trapdoor musket dated 1884 on breech block and marked U.S. Springfield on lock. Walnut stock with SWP cartouche and 1899 date and "P" in circle proof. Rifled barrel marked with view proof eagle. Blade front sight and Buffington rear sight. Comes with original cleaning rod. CONDITION: A) Barrel retains 90% of old refinish with a pitted bore. Action is pitted with 90% of an old reblue remaining. Rust in the protected areas. Hardware has 90% of applied finish remaining over an unpolished surface. Original cut down stock retains 80% of an old refinish with varnish flaking at the handling points and one slight crack on lock bolt side of stock. Mechanically sound and functions fine. B) Barrel has 90% remaing of an old refinish with sharp proofs and a pitted bore. Action retains 80% of an old reblue. Sling swivels, buttplate, triggerguard and ramrod all have been refinished and retain 85%. Original walnut stock with sharp cartouches retains 90% of an old refinish with minor dings and handling marks. Mechanically sound and functions fine.
