A variant of the model 1863 this gun is dated on the barrel 1864. Lock is marked U.S. Springfield with spread eagle and dated 1864. Bolster also marked with spread eagle. Walnut stock with visible cartouches. U.S. marked buttplate and original ramrod and sights. CONDITION: Barrel has been cleaned to an in the white finish, with proofs still visible. Lock and hardware have been cleaned to an in the white finish also. Shootable bore and solid mechanically. Wood has applied finish with visible cartouches and slight dings and handling marks. Would make an excellent re-enactors gun or display piece.
