Model 1855 dated 1860 on lock. Rifled barrel marked with eagle head proof at breech, with blade front sight and folding leaf rear sight. Original lock with Maynard tape primer system dated 1860 and marked U.S. Springfield. Original sling swivels and ramrod. U.S. stamped buttplate. Walnut stock with no visible cartouches. CONDITION: Barrel cleaned to an "in the white" finish with rear sight being a replacement, along with replacement nipple. Original lock cleaned to "in the white" with sharp markings. Metal hardware also polished. Bore is pitted with faint rifling still visible. Wood cleaned and refinished with slight handling marks. Mechanically sound and functions.
