Weighs 43 lbs 4 oz with a 1-1/4" bore. This antique canon was never made to fire a ball or projectile. The muzzle with a pronounced lip and the tube itself has baffles within to either deaden or increase the sound. The hinged breech is stamped "Strong September 4-8". Has lanyard type firing pin, well turned trunnions measuring 8-1/2" across. CONDITION: Overall good with nice patination. Breech refuses to open but all told this is a most attractive cannon and would look great on your yacht.
