Manufactured in 1944. Features include; Long frame, round pencil barrel with dovetailed inverted V front sight, U notch rear sight on rear toggle link. Wide grip safety. Plastic checkered grips. Eight round detachable box magazine. Manufactured by Waffenfabrik Bern for commercial and military sales in Switzerland. Total number manufactured was 29,857. Gun has a distinctive step down on the front of the receiver. Full serial number on the rear edge of barrel left side of frame and on the rear toggle link. The red plastic checkered grips and red plastic magazine bottom are the hardest color to find. They are usually brown or black. Swiss cross in shield on the center toggle link. The Swiss adopted the Luger as their military side arm in 1900. It underwent many changes from the early DWM lugers to the Waffenfabrik Bern Lugers. CONDITION: Great bore with sharp lands and grooves. Gun has a slight rust spot on the left side of the frame. It has been covered up with blueing.
