Manufactured in 1947. Features include; Long frame, round barrel with dovetailed inverted V front sight, U notch rear sight on rear toggle link. Wide grip safety. Plastic checkered grips. Eight round detachable box magazine. Manufactured by Waffenfabrik Bern for commercial and military sales in Switzerland. Total number manufactured was 29,857. Gun has a distinctive step down on the front of the receiver. Full serial number on the rear edge of barrel left side of frame and on the rear toggle link. Has brown plastic checkered grips and brown plastic magazine bottom. Swiss cross in shield on the center toggle link. The Swiss adopted the Luger as their military side arm in 1900. It underwent many changes from the early DWM lugers to the Waffenfabrik Bern Lugers. Great bore with sharp lands and grooves. Gun is marked P. on the left side of frame for privat or non-military commercial. CONDITION: Gun retains 98% of the original factory blue finish. A lot of the 1947 guns were used as experimental guns. Some like this gun were fitted with 9MM barrels of different lengths. They also were fitted with different types of sights. Comes in an R.TROHLER 44 MUNCHWILEN Swiss leather holster with the shoulder straps and extra magazine. A rare gun.
