Scarce and highly desirable, factory engraved, silver plated, post war P38 imported by Interarms in 1970 with special thumb rest grips. Standard configuration P38 with a 5" barrel with a drift adjustable front sight and inserted rear sight. Left side of slide marked with the Walther banner followed by usual two line address denoting model and caliber. Right side of slide marked with Interarms logo. Full serial number on left side of frame near takedown lever. Left trigger guard web marked "70" reflecting year of manufacture. "Made in West Germany" on right side of frame. Usual eagle N proofs on left side of slide, left trigger guard web, and under barrel. As true for most factory engraved pistols, the rear sight bar is checkered with complimentary pattern appearing on portions of the slide stop, transfer bar, and trigger guard web. Most of the slide covered with deep scroll that extends over the bridge, top of barrel, under trigger guard and front strap. Fitted with thumb rest grips with lower stippling. Magazine commercially marked with Walther banner surmounting P38 9mm with blued and checkered floorplate. Condition: Pistol showing very little wear with untouched silver largely tarnished. Comprable condition magazine. Period grips virtually new. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. A beautiful post-war Walther P38, silver engraved, that would enhance any collection.
