(1924) Standard configuration for pattern with 20" round barrel with standard and three leaf sight, and double set triggers. All correct and matching markings and proofs are on barrel, action, and bolt. Receiver ring has dovetailed through front scope mount by ERA with matching rear mount fitted to bridge. Bolt shank has been ground to clear scope ocular. Bottom metal has hinged floorplate with lever release. Lightly fiddle figured European walnut stock extends to muzzle and has intermediate schnable and measures 14-3/8" over horn Mauser logo buttplate. Pistol grip cap is steel and standard point pattern checkering is at grip and forepiece. Sling loops are on toe line and forend. Rifle is fitted with Leupold Vari - X III 3.5 - 10 scope with three heavy post and crosshair reticle in "Eramatic" QD rings. Scope is accompanied by non-matching box. Weight without scope: 7 lbs 0 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, as completely restored, retaining 98% original type finishes on all wood and metal surfaces, including rust blue on barrel and action, brilliant temper blue on screws, bolt stop, triggers, and lever floorplate release. Front portion of bolt body is bright polish. Flag safety has been changed to a low profile type. There are some marks in original type stock finish. Buttplate shows some light wear. Bore is excellent. Action is smooth. Set triggers work. Scope is excellent with some dimples visible at rear of barrel from re-positioning of ring. Optically clear. An attractive example of this sought after Mauser variant. MGM 76
