Built on a Greek military action, this carbine has 20" barrel fitted with Williams Guide rear sight and ramp front with sourdough bead. Action is marked with caliber on left side of receiver ring, and "STEYR 1914". Bolt has been engine turned and engraved with butter knife handle installed. Chrome plated trigger guard has scroll engraving on bow. Floorplate with more well done shaded scroll has central red and yellow gold inlaid oak leaves and acorns. Relatively plain European walnut capped pistol grip Monte Carlo stock measures 14 - 1/8" over serrated horn buttplate with 1/8" white line spacer. Stock extends to muzzle and has steel cap in classic Mannlicher style. In place of checkering stock features deep relief carved sprays of oak leaves in stippled background. Weight: 7 lbs 3 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining nearly all custom finishes on all wood and metal surfaces. There is some scattered rusting with associated pitting toward left rear of action. Bore is excellent. Action is smooth. MGM 83
