(ca 1925) 24" Barrel is fitted with very rare tangent curve rear sight base (unfortunately sighting mechanism is missing). Receiver ring is marked with typical patent and model information. Bolt stop is fitted with Lyman no. 36 sight. Barrel and action take down by removing pin at tip of forend, removing rotary magazine, flipping toggle latch at front of trigger guard, with barrel and action lifting out from rear retaining iron. This was a $15.00 extra cost option in 1939. Relatively plain European walnut stock with horn grip cap measures 14 - 5/8" over steel buttplate with trap, and features standard right hand cheekpiece and point pattern checkering. Weight: 6 lbs 12 oz. CONDITION: Excellent. Metal parts retain approximately 85% original blue with light marks, scuffs, and some freckling. Stock retains most of its original finish with numerous marks and light scratches. Bore is excellent. Mechanically excellent. A very rare rifle with its tangent sight in a caliber with a very good reputation for moose-sized game, with many bullets available for reloading. MGM 82
