A lovely Swiss music box of Jacot's Music Box Company by Mermod Freres, circa 1886 with the serial no. 25001. It is housed in rosewood with floral graphics throughout but displays moderate exterior wear. With cast aluminum side handles. The interior is very clean, containing- a single drum, single comb, 17-1/2 inch cylinder and 6 bells with butterfly hammers. Includes the original paper song program, displaying minor wear. Beautifully plays 12 songs such as Mikado by Sullivan and La Norma by Bellini.
