19th century. The first is a dome shaped lantern in two parts, delicately pierced and with reticulating designs of Arabic symbols within window frames. Joined to a conforming circular base with seven openings which may have accommodated lighting devices. Unit has now been drilled for wiring. Verdigris surface and some soiling from smoke. 14-1/2" tall x 12" diameter. The second a copper alms dish, the center of which has four rondels, each decorated with figures of pensioners, decorated overall with etched foliate designs. The outer rim with a 1/2" split, dish has overall warpage from use, original silvered surface is well worn with ruminates remaining, overall very good. 15-3/4" diameter. The last item is a deep copper bowl with rounded base, decorated overall with a wide reserve of Arabic writing flanked by arabesque foliate scroll work. The borders of letters and designs appear to be inlaid with silver. Very good overall with undisturbed surface, with overall in use wear. 5" tall x 9-1/2" diameter. Provenance: From a Private collection, many which were decommissioned from The Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn, New York in the mid 20th century.
