This very nice rifle features an octagonal barrel signed "J. DOUGLASS" on the top flat. The percussion lock plate is marked "Henry Prke/ Warranted" and features stamp engraved designs. Brass furniture including a deeply engraved four piece patch box and an engraved side plate. There is a silver star with engraved border and above the cheek piece and a silver heart above the wrist. Partially figured full length maple stock of familiar Huntingdon County Pennsylvania form, complete with original ramrod. CONDITION: Good to Very Good. Barrel retains a brown patina with scattered marks and corrosion at breech. Lock retains a brown and freckled patina. The hair trigger has been broken off. Brass retains a mellow patina. Patch box lid with some minor denting. Stock has some minor losses around pins, a chip in front of lock plate, a minor chip at the toe and a small age crack. It retains most of the original finish.
