These were made by Remington from 1847-1848. Only 1,000 of these were made with the tape primer. Brass mounted. Oval loading aperture. Marked on the top of the barrel with the standard markings and dated 1845. Cartouche on left side of stock. CONDITION: Barrel and receiver have a nice patina with light pitting and clear markings. Lock has some very minor pitting and clear markings. The loading lever has a groove cut into the rear for an unknown reason. Brass retains a pleasing patina. Wood has some dings and handling marks, cartouche is visible but worn. Bore has strong rifling with some light pitting.
