This is a standard Model 1860 Spencer carbine that has double set triggers. Possibly done post war as many were converted for sporting purposes. The lever has also been modified and the rear sight replaced. Original tube magazine in butt. Visible cartouches on the left side of the stock. CONDITION: Even age patina overall with some light surface rust. All markings are clear. The front trigger is broken off and missing. Gun does not cock, although there is good spring tension. Action opens and closes smoothly. Wood is untouched showing wear with some dings and handling marks. There is an old gouge or cut in the metal on the top of the receiver on the left side, possibly from sword blade, certainly done a very long time ago.
